Pastor Scotty's Bio

Scotty Robert West was born on February 27, 1964 and grew up in Southern California (Orange Co.), when Scotty was a teenager he was back and forth from Orange County California (where his step father and mother lived) to Nacogdoches, Texas where his father lived.
Pastor Scotty now lives in northern California where he and his loving wife Tahoe enjoy their six year old daughter, Yediah.
He has the pleasure of being the lead pastor of “This Side of the Rock Fellowship” which he founded in 2002 in Humboldt County California and is now in the process of moving and planting their second church to Southern California.
He is an international speaker and a board member of the Acts29 International Network. http://www.a29.org/main.html
The church in northern California, started out as a bible study, grew to about 200 member’s in a town of ten thousand and known as the bible study that got out of control!
“This Side of the Rock Fellowship” has many, many out-reaches ranging from helping the homeless to senior citizens care.
Scotty is also a Chaplain with the California Department of Corrections which includes Pelican Bay State Prison where a team of member’s visit often.
This Side of the Rock also has an orphanage in Kenya, East Africa that is blessed with twenty-one wonderful children.
Scotty is a site supervisor for a faith based mentoring program for children of absentee parents that are incarcerated in Humboldt County.
Thankfully he has been blessed by being able to have interviews in many newspapers throughout the country, spoken on many radio stations and speaking arrangements and giving the praise to Jesus.
This Side of the Rock Fellowship now has four recovery homes with over forty residents (including women with children) called “Cornerstones Recovery Project” that Scotty founded.
As you can see “This Side of the Rock Fellowship” has a huge heart for their community the recovery selters are just one of the way's we want to show our love
I only achieve by His grace, I only sin by my choice and because of His great love, I am given the chance to weigh them both minute by minute and by living under such mercy I can’t help but notice both.
